The building restoration contract, located at Monsenhor Messias Street, in the heart of the city, with the winner of the bid, the company Rocholi Construções, was signed in 2012.

The purpose of UNIFEMM, through restoration, is to transform its 275 m2 hall into a multipurpose space to receive various exhibitions by plastic artists, monologues presentation, book launch, lectures, small musical presentations, cultural offices, besides being an institutional space of the University Center in the city center.

The resources for this first stage of works, which included the restoration of the civil and structural part and also included the electrical and hydraulic networks, came from a project approved by the Rouanet Law of Incentive to Culture, of the Federal Government. Of the R $ 875.5 thousand approved, R $ 622 thousand were raised with Iveco Latin American.

Currently, to complete the second phase of the work, which included the purchase and installation of lighting, air conditioning, technical equipment, furniture, exhibition furniture and other finishes, UNIFEMM needs to seek another R $ 200 thousand. To this end, he hopes that, as Iveco did in 2011, other companies can contribute to making this a project that marks the history of the city of Sete Lagoas.

Sport is an important social weapon for the better development of the nation, aiming to bring people together and make them exercise not only the body, but also the mind, so that they can obtain results
most expressive in your life, be it professional, student or dedicated to leisure.

According to the definition of the Houaiss dictionary, “sport is regular physical activity, for the purpose of recreation and / or maintenance of body conditioning and health”.

The regular practice of sport, in addition to a healthier life, provides the practitioner with a strong social inclusion, which includes a cycle of friendships and fun.

“The importance of sport is universally recognized and its practice rarely fails to benefit its practitioner, whether it is a child, young person, adult or elderly person with good physical and mental health. All sports are good and their use depends on how to practice it and its purpose. “

The UNIFEMM Solidarity Project is the result of the desire of law students who wanted to leave their mark on the history of the Centro Universitário de Sete Lagoas and, why not, on the lives of people at social risk. And the initiative, which started in the corridors of UEDI, soon won the support of students from other courses.

Thus, with the support of Rotary Sete Lagoas, the first campaign was created, which was named Seresta do Cobertor. More than warm clothes, the initiative culminated in the donation of various items such as geriatric diapers, toys and personal hygiene products, which were sent to entities that assist the needy in the city.

In May 2015, the UNIFEMM Solidário project was awarded, secondly, at the Rotary Open Forum, an event that took place in the city of Poços de Caldas. The award is a source of pride for the institution, because it reflects its commitment to actions that involve solidarity and human coexistence.

The Centro Universitário de Sete Lagoas – UNIFEMM celebrates the receipt of the “Socially Responsible HEI” Seal, certifying the institution as an HEI committed to education and society. The Memory of Sete Lagoas Project is defined as an institutional project of the Centro Universitário de Sete Lagoas, involving teachers, students and the Setelagoan community in scientific production and cultural activities, practices that are fundamental to UNIFEMM’s academic education and social responsibility.

The main objective of the project is to produce knowledge, research and records about the memory and historical and cultural identity of Sete Lagoas, reversing the situation of absence and / or deficiency in relation to sources of research and documentation on historical, cultural, economic and politicians of this important city in the central region of Minas Gerais.

The project started in October 2005 and its conception included research and documentation in four thematic areas, supported by eight subprojects. Currently all research subprojects are already concluded and organized in the form of scientific articles to be published soon in the book Memória de Sete Lagoas (forthcoming). The thematic areas and projects are:

Area 2: History of Political Culture, with a subproject:

• The Political Elite in Sete Lagoas and the Presence of JK

Area 3: Cultural History of Sete Lagoas, with three subprojects:

• Memory of Teatro Redenção
• Memory of Trapalhão Zacarias
• Sete Lagoas Graphic Memory: Newspapers, Books and Other Print

Area 4: History of Education, with two subprojects:

• Life Stories and Pedagogical Memories of Sete Lagoas
• Expanding possibilities: heritage education in the Sete Lagoas Memory Project

The research carried out is already generating other scientific research subprojects.
For 2007, three other research projects were approved:

Area 1: Economic History of Sete Lagoas, with the subproject:

• Gusa society: history and memory

Area 2: Cultural History of Sete Lagoas, with the subproject:

• Memories of Rádio Cultura of Sete Lagoas

Area 3: History of Education, with the subproject:

• Sete Lagoas School Memory

In addition to research and the publication of the book, the Memory of Sete Lagoas Project has also developed several actions related to heritage education whose objective is to expand the social and cultural reach of this important UNIFEMM initiative. Based on the results obtained and the scientific investigation processes, socio-educational activities are being carried out aimed at making the knowledge produced available to the community.

This process will culminate in the publication of heritage education booklets for schools and libraries in the municipality, so that they can develop educational and cultural actions that enable the appropriation of the city’s history and memory, with due technical support and training to be provided. offered by the Sete Lagoas Memory Project, as well as cultural events related to memory and cultural identity.

It is important to emphasize that this cultural action of a socio-educational nature reiterates the mission, goals and objectives of the Institutional Pedagogical Project of UNIFEMM, since it delimits a clear purpose of intensifying the social insertion of HEI in the community, reaffirming its social responsibility and its firm commitment to combat social exclusion and to promote the full exercise of citizenship for the community.
